Dear Parent,
The activity is martial arts training, especially at Miller's Martial Arts Academy. Our school has received wide praise in the community as an ultra-positive influence on young people. Fun with a purpose: building character Miller's Martial Arts uses fun to build character. Martial arts is amazing fun, and this fun allows us to keep the students' energy and interest so we can motivate them for the real purpose of martial arts training: building character and integrity. All this fun gives us the chance to suddenly shift from physical technique to character-building activities.
Martial Arts Skills and Life Skills
Impulse Control, Confidence, Anger Management, Discipline
 |
We call our life-skills curriculum "Project Based Leadership Training". Each month we have a parent connection letter, daily coaching chats on the mat, and a simple assignment the students can work on at home to earn a patch for their uniform. An example of a life-skills assignment could be self-discipline, learning to exercise control over our minds and bodies. Imagine the discussions have with you child as they work on age appropriate life skills. Our well thought program has been taught to thousands of young people in Kirkland for almost a decade and a half. |
Understand the power of setting goals.
Another way to build character is to learn to set manageable goals and achieving goals. Our belt system teaches students to create small goals that will eventually lead to the achievement of larger ones. Our school is very affordable and has a wide variety of classes for students of almost every age. Our winter sessions are nearly full. If you are interested in martial arts lessons then you must give our school a try. There is a reason why our school has been around for 14 years and has limited space in our classes.
Thanks,
Korbett Miller
Listen to what families have to say about our school!
“We chose Miller's Martial Arts Academy because of Korbett Miller and his staff's outstanding rapport with the students. Korbett uses the skills of Martial Arts to reinforce the discipline, morals and values that we teach at home and he does it in a way that is fun and engaging. Our three children have been working hard to achieve their black belts and their desire to succeed only helps them more in school and in life. Thank you Korbett and staff!”
“I have a five year old daughter who has been in the program for over two years now. The great thing about the Miller Academy is that, in addition to teaching hand-eye coordination and the basic martial arts skills to progress to the next level, the school really does re-enforce all the life-lesson materials we are teaching our daughter at home. The teacher are energetic, skilled and above all, caring.”
“My boys, ages 16 and 13, have been at Miller’s for nine years. The program offers a well-rounded, structured activity that is so much more than just exercise. There are lessons to be learned that extend far beyond the studio and classes are taught in a fun way..”
“Korbett Miller is simply amazing with the kids. He intuitively strikes the right balance of fun and serious martial arts training. He also knows how to keep the discipline level high in his classes, while still providing great encouragement and humor. Our daughter loves his class and has progressed tremendously from just over a year ago when she started in his L’il Ninja’s class to the Juniors class. What I love most about the way Sibok Miller teaches is the fact that he also uses the time to focus on specific character traits that help reinforce the values their parents are trying to teach them at home.”
